Happy Christmas from Flying Kiwi

As summer peaks here in NZ we would like to wish you all a fantastic festive season. Its all systems go here over Christmas but we'll be making time for some great celebrations on the buses and looking forward to an adventure packed 2011.

So put your feet up, tuck into the mince pies or stollen, sip a glass of mulled wine and enjoy a few festive highlights from Flying Kiwi.

Photo Competition Launched

Get your cameras snapping to be in for a chance to win some superb prizes. This year we have a sparkling new mountain bike with shimano gears for our overall winner and 5 brilliant travel packs for our runners up. The travel packs are bulging with all the essential travel gear you will need for your next adventure.

With so many prizes it's definitely worth submitting your trip photos. To enter simply:

- Visit our facebook page to sign up as a fan

- Once registered as a fan visit our facebook competition page and follow the link and instructions

- Make sure you add a comment to go with your photo explaining why you think Flying Kiwi is the best way to explore New Zealand

- Get as many of your friends as possible to "like" your entry

The overall winner will be the entry with the best photo and comment combination chosen by the team at Flying Kiwi. The 5 runner ups will be for the entries with the most likes on facebook. New staff at Flying Kiwi HQ

We are very pleased to welcome a new member to the the Flying Kiwi team.

Shane Laurence is Flying Kiwi's new commercial manager and will be working on a range of exciting product developments in 2011.

Shane has a wealth of commercial experience, adding key ingredients to the team mix at Flying Kiwi.

When not in the office Shane is a keen (and talented) cricketer and has already shown his love for all things adrenalin on his first Flying Kiwi tour.

Hot destination: Wellington

Few places at the moment are hotter than Wellington, recently named in Lonely Planets top 10 cities in the World. Wellington region includes Wellington City and the south-western portion of the North Island. Wellington, New Zealand's capital (population 346,000), is a superbly compact city, set on the shores of a deep harbour and surrounded by a natural amphitheatre of wooded hills. It is New Zealand's trendy weekend destination and has the most vibrant entertainment district in the country, where you can find some of the best bars, cafes, restaurants and theatres.

Wellington boasts an eclectic mix of shops. With a host of fashion stores and the country's premier department store, the city offers some of New Zealand's best shopping opportunities. With around 400 cafes and restaurants, Wellington's inner city has the highest concentration of eating establishments in New Zealand,
earning it the tag 'café capital of New Zealand'.
